Pregnancy & Postpartum

So, you're pregnant. Now what?

We want mothers who are expecting or postpartum to take charge of their bodies. To not be afraid of the journey. To recognize, this will be the biggest athletic event of their life and we can help prepare for that. Remaining active while pregnant is important to help decrease pain by increasing strength, flexibility, and balance in the constant changing body throughout the 40-week journey. Prioritizing movement also boosts endorphins to help with mood and increases blood flow to the baby.

However, we recognize that staying active can be touch due to aches and pains in the low back, sciatica, pain across the lower abdomen from the stretching of the round ligaments and swelling in the feet. Regular visits to a Chiropractor that specializes in pregnancy can help you move better and feel better by being in a more balanced state.

Our goal is to also empower you and your birth partner with information and knowledge so you can make the best decisions for you and your baby. We work with a network of OBGYN’s, Midwives, and Doulas to help you along the way.

Pregnancy Chiropractic

Dr. Zoma is a current standing member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, and through this organization, holds a certification in the Webster Technique—this enables her to offer Chiropractic care not just to adults, but also babies, children, and pregnant mothers. The Webster technique is a specific Chiropractic adjustment with the aim of reducing the effects of sacral pain and helps to facilitate the expecting mother’s pelvic alignment and nerve system function, ahead of the birth. We work to increase and improve movement in joints that are stiff and imbalanced. Our goal is to help the pregnant woman experience balance in her body.

Tools we implement are specific pregnancy tailored therapy, nutritional advice, kinesio taping, myofascial release (massage). This holistic approach helps the pregnant woman not just “survive” the 40-week marathon, but actually enjoy it and feel empowered!
